Cambridge nursery suspended by Ofsted after ‘safeguarding and safety’ concerns

A Cambridge nursery provider has been suspended by Ofsted due to concerns around safeguarding and safety. Cambridge Day Nursery was suspended on Wednesday (October 11) following a visit from Ofsted.

An Ofsted report published on September 28 said the regulator had received information that raised concerns that the provider was not meeting requirements for early years providers. It said: “On 12 September 2023, we carried out a regulatory visit.

“We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We have issued actions for the provider to take.”

The report outlined the actions the provider needed to take. These included improving risk assessment procedures and taking action to minimise or remove hazards so children are not exposed to unnecessary risk. A second action was to improve hygiene practices to ensure the premises are fit for purpose and promote good health for the children.

A spokesperson for Ofsted confirmed the nursery had been inspected on October 10. The provider was suspended on October 11 due to concerns around safeguarding and safety.
