Cambs model walked London Fashion Week runway and appeared in leading fashion magazine

A model from Cambridge was scouted at a charity event to walk at London Fashion Week and has appeared in a leading fashion magazine. The 17-year-old hopes to fulfil her dream and walk in New York Fashion Week one day and pursue her modelling career full time.

Maddison Pauly, 17 from Chatteris, Cambridgeshire has been modelling since she was nine years old working for different companies but she walked the runway for the very first time during London Fashion Week in September this year. Maddison was scouted to take part in the globally known fashion runway after she took part in a charity fundraiser earlier in the year.

The 17-year-old became a finalist at the charity fundraiser for Top Model Foundation earlier this year which supports sick and children in need. Talking about the event for the Top Model Foundation, Maddison said: “It was amazing, everyone was so lovely.

“It was just so fun, everyone just came together and it was a really lovely time”.

After being scouted the Cambridge model then strutted her stuff down the catwalk in London Fashion Week at The Royal Horseguards Hotel, the same venue as the charity fundraiser for Top Model Foundation. Maddison modelled for seven different designers in one of the most popular and well-known fashion shows globally, walking for the likes of Abigail Willis Cameron, and Omar Mansoor.

Walking a runway was new to the teen who had previously modelled in photoshoots and said: “I had no idea how to walk before that on the runway” adding that it’s “quite tricky”. Asking how it felt to walk the London Fashion Week runway Maddison said it was “completely surreal”.

She continued: “I’ve always been interested in London Fashion Week for years, I’ve always watched videos of people walking, I couldn’t believe it really, the opportunity is just incredible”.

Explaining how it feels to walk the runway Maddison adds: “The adrenaline is amazing.

“And when everyone claps for you, it just gives you such a rush which is so nice.

“You come off the stage and you’re just feeling so good.

“The adrenaline’s just taking over and you just feel so ready to go on to the next one.

“It’s just such a good feeling, it’s fun, it’s not stressful, it’s a good stress”.

Waiting backstage before walking the runway Maddison said she “absolutely” gets the pre-show nerves. Adding: “It was my first runway (during London Fashion Week).

“Being backstage it hadn’t really hit me with nerves until I was stood behind in the wing and that’s when it started to take over, and I was like ‘oh wow, this is actually happening'”.

Following her success during London Fashion Week the Cambridge model was also featured in the leading fashion and lifestyle magazine, FabUK. Asking what is next for the 17-year-old model she said: “It’s getting that exposure and just getting out there and seeing what happens next.

“I would love to do New York Fashion Week, that would be amazing. And get on magazine covers and things like that, it would be incredible”.
