Cambridge care home invites community to Harvest Festival

17 October @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

A Cambridge care home is opening its doors to the community for a day of Harvest Festival fun.

On Thursday 17th October, from 2pm-3.30pm, Care UK’s Heathlands House on Bullen Close is welcoming the community for its Harvest Festival activities.

The home will host a crafting workshop inspired by harvest season, which will include a Harvest Festival crafting workshop, where residents and visitors will be able to express their creativity and foster connections across the generations.

Following the workshop, the home will be hosting a church service celebrating the spirit of community, giving back and togetherness.

In the spirit of giving, Heathlands House will also be delivering a food bank donation to St Andrew’s Church in Cherry Hinton, which the local community can contribute to by visiting the drop-off point at the home until Wednesday 16th October.

Razvan Stanbeca, Home Manager at Heathlands House, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our doors this October as we celebrate Harvest Festival and give thanks for the food we gather and eat.

“Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy our Harvest festival crafting workshop and church service on 17th October. We’re also encouraging our local community to contribute to our food bank donation for St Andrew’s Church, which is open until Wednesday 16th October in the reception area at Heathlands House.”

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Heathlands House incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities both indoors and out. The layout of the building has been configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge and dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
