The Lunar New Year is fast approaching on 25 January 2025! Join us on this joyful day. The Cambridge Lunar New Year Market 2025 is a community event open to all, making it a unique celebration in Cambridge. Organized by UKinders, a group of dedicated Hong Kong volunteers, this non-profit event aims to bring joy and cultural exchange to the Cambridge community.
There will be 20+ stalls for food and groceries, craft workshops and talks from professionals, as well as activities to keep the kids busy too. Free entry and open to all.
Are you interested to learn more about the culture of Lunar New Year? Then come to join us, you wouldn’t be disappointed. The Festival will be held in Marleigh Community Centre consisting of the 215m2 indoor Hall, the Foyer and the outdoor space at Jubilee Square – so a lot will be going on there!
No matter you are street food lovers, Chinese culture enthusiasts, craft hobbyist, or simply like strolling around stalls selling new year foods or items or chit chat with friends, there must be something for you. Children will be excited to explore their talent in a number of interactive workshops on crafts or technology, and the little ones be kept fascinated with traditional tales telling. Getting there:
Parking
Please park your car in the Park & Ride. It is 100m walk to the venue. There are 800 spaces, 15 disabled bays, parking is free for 18 hours and it is open 24/7. There is a height barrier. There is no suitable parking in Marleigh: only a few short-stay bays and one disabled bay.
Buses
Park & Ride buses, such as no. 3 & PR2, run every 15 minutes to and from Cambridge. An all-day ticket is £3.50 for one person, £6.50 for a small group or £10.50 for up to 5 adults. Walking and Cycling
Marleigh has an internal, off-road, active travel corridor running east-west which is a spur off the Chisholm Trail at the Abbey-Chesterton Railway Bridge over the River Cam. Bike parking is available outside the centre.
