Handel’s Messiah (part 1) and Festive Favourites

Eboracum Baroque return to Grantchester Church to perform Part 1 of Handel’s Messiah and other Baroque festive favourites. As well as all the famous tunes from Handel’s Messiah (Part 1) there will be arias from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, pastoral music by Charpentier and other works by Porpora and Buxtehude. Großer Herr from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio Salve, Puerule from Charpentier’s In nativitatem domini canticum In Dulci Jubilo – Buxtehude Stelle Lucide – Porpora Messiah Part 1 (and also Hallelujah Chorus and Amen) Sopranos – Elen Lloyd Roberts, Naomi Sturges Alto – Alex Osborne Tenor – Gareth Edmunds Bass – John Holland Avery Accompanied by an orchestra of period instrumentalists led by Alice Poppleton.
