Join us for a conversation with award-winning science journalist, author, and broadcaster Angela Saini, as part of our International Women’s Day series of events. Angela will discuss how patriarchy and gendered oppression became embedded in societies across the globe, and will explore the complex ways in which different forms of oppression contributed to the clamping down on women’s rights and freedoms over thousands over years.

Angela Saini is an award-winning British journalist and broadcaster. She presents science programmes on the BBC, and her writing has appeared in the New Scientist, the Sunday Times, National Geographic, and Wired. Her book, Superior: The Return of Race Science, was a finalist for the LA Times Book Prize and named book of the year by the Telegraph, Nature, and Financial Times. Her latest book is The Patriarchs: How Men Came to Rule, and Angela will be signing copies after this event.
