Saturday 6 June 2026 | Peter Hall Performing Arts Centre, Cambridge

Train with leading industry professionals in an exciting day of dance and screen acting masterclasses at the Perse Academy of Performing Arts (PAPA). Open to students from any school, these sessions offer a rare opportunity to experience professional-level training in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Hamilton Dance Masterclass (Year 3-6 & Year 7-13) – 1 hour

Led by Kelly Downing, Dance Captain from the original West End production of Hamilton, this high‑energy workshop gives students the chance to learn choreography and performance skills directly inspired by the show. Students will explore choreography, technique, and performance skills, learning routines from one of the world’s most iconic musicals. These sessions for Year 3-6 and Year 7-13 will focus on technique, musicality and stage presence, while keeping things practical, supportive and fun.

Acting for Screen Masterclass (Year 6-13) – 90 minutes

In this immersive 90‑minute masterclass, Emma Lowndes, BAFTA award‑winning actor (Downton Abbey, Military Wives, Amadeus), introduces students to the essential skills needed for acting on camera. Through a series of practical, hands-on exercises, participants will explore subtlety, focus and connection on screen, while discovering how screen acting differs from stage performance. Emma will share valuable insight into how professional film and television sets operate, what directors and camera teams are really looking for, and the language and processes commonly used in the industry.
