Uncomfortable Cambridge is a social enterprise which aims to generate discussions about contested histories. Their ‘uncomfortable’ walking tours of the city explore histories and legacies of empire, tensions between ‘town and gown’, racial inequality, and gender and LGBTQIA+ discrimination.

The Uncomfortable Cambridge tour guides lead participants around the city and facilitate respectful conversations inspired by the built environment. Some of the topics covered will include:

What should we do with controversial statues?

How should nations teach their histories?

Who has access to university education?
