SUMMARY:International Repair Day Repair Cafe
DESCRIPTION:We’ll be joining repair groups around the world on 17th October\, International Repair Day\, to help fix people’s broken stuff and share repair skills. \nRequest a repair here . \nExperienced Cambridge Repair Cafe volunteers will work together with volunteers from local company Sentec – a Xylem Brand – to help fix your broken and worn toys and gadgets\, clothes\, electricals and all sorts of household items. We’ll do our best to fix your item but if we can’t\, we’ll try and suggest a next step. \nWe strongly recommend booking your item in advance – this enables us to do background research and make sure we have the most appropriately skilled repairer working on your item. We’ll keep a few walk-in repair slots for the day\, and will do our best to fit your item in if you are unable to book in advance. \nEnjoy tea\, coffee and cakes while you wait for your repair! \nRepairs are free but donations are welcome. \nThis is the tenth International Repair Day\, when events are held all around the world\, celebrating the power of repair to bring our communities together\, reduce our impact on the planet and teach new skills.

SUMMARY:London Philharmonic Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:Edward Gardner has a special affinity with Tchaikovsky – LPO’s performances of his symphonies with Gardner at the helm are alive with what the conductor calls Tchaikovsky’s ‘deep passion\, loss\, and memories of happiness’. \n\n\nThe epic symphonic portrait of Byron’s brooding\, wandering hero Manfred contains some of Tchaikovsky’s most vibrant and characterful music. \nOf the recent concerto Mark Simpson wrote for her\, Nicola Benedetti said ‘everything has been poured into it’ and The Strad lavished it with praise\, calling it ‘immediately arresting’. Simpson’s latest concerto promises to be equally thrilling. Tamara Stefanovich\, one of the world’s great interpreters of 20th- and 21st-century piano music\, brings this brand new piece to life.
