SUMMARY:NELL GWYNN by Jessica Swale
DESCRIPTION:A brilliantly funny play loosely based on the historical tale that mixes unapologetically bawdy comedy with a strong dose of social justice. \nThis Olivier-Award winning ‘best comedy’ by Jessica Swale brings to life the story of Nell Gwynn\, seventeenth century actress and mistress of Charles II. Charting a determined heroine’s rise from orange seller to star of the stage when women were first permitted to perform\, the play follows her ensuing stardom and the chaos that follows as she finds herself in love with the King and thrown into navigating a male-dominated world.
