New ‘Uncomfortable Cambridge’ walking tours launched

See the most iconic views of Cambridge, while discovering the ‘uncomfortable’ histories that shaped them through this new and unique walking tour experience.

Uncomfortable Cambridge is a social enterprise which aims to generate discussions about contested histories. They have recently launched their ‘uncomfortable’ walking tours of the city, exploring histories and legacies of empire, tensions between ‘town and gown’, racial inequality, and gender and LGBTQIA+ discrimination.

The Uncomfortable Cambridge tour guides lead participants around the city and facilitate respectful conversations inspired by the built environment. Some of the topics covered will include:

What should we do with controversial statues?
How should nations teach their histories?
Who has access to university education?

Tours are running every weekend, Saturday and Sunday at 2.30pm, in central Cambridge. Bookings and more information at www.uncomfortablecambridge.co.uk
