CambridgeshireLive is delighted to announce we will soon have two new neighbouring news websites which are dedicated to covering East Anglia.
NorfolkLive and SuffolkLive will have their own editor, a team of reporters and content editors who’ll be dedicated to reporting on the biggest and best stories from both fantastic counties.
Jobs will be available for online applications in the next few days on our dedicated careers website for any journalists looking for an exciting opportunity in digital media.
The expansion is part of CambridgeshireLive’s parent company Reach’s plans to have a local news brand in every county in England and Wales by the end of the year.
As part of the latest expansion of the Live network – which will create more than 50 jobs – the company will also launch OxfordshireLive and a mini-site MyDover, dedicated to the coastal town in Kent.
We are also adding dedicated reporting resource to increase coverage of Brighton on SussexLive – which only launched last summer.
David Bartlett, audience and content director for the South East, said: “I’m delighted we are launching into new areas across the East and South East of England.
“We have successfully launched a number of new titles across the South recently, and are very good at responding to what our readers expect and want. We really are looking forward to building strong relationships with our readers in these new areas.”
The decision follows a period of rapid growth for Reach’s online regional brands. Comscore data released in March shows that 72 per cent of UK adults get local news from Reach, up from 67 per cent a year ago, with 88 per cent of adults who consume local news in the UK spending time on Reach’s Live network of sites.
Lloyd Embley, Reach Editor-in-Chief, added: “Over the past 18 months, we’ve significantly ramped up the number of new sites we’ve launched as part of our Live network, many in areas where we don’t have established print titles.
