Burglar Mark Turner broke into a Cambridge home while a man and three young children slept inside. The 40-year-old walked into the home in Callander Close at around 3am and stole a 55” TV and two X-Box controllers.
The occupant was open a few later by his children, who were asking where the TV had gone. Turner was spotted on CCTV cameras walking towards the address before the break in, which took place on June 10.
He was seen wearing gloves and leaving the home around six minutes later carrying a television. Police identified him from a tattoo on his arm that was visible on the CCTV.
On Thursday, July 13, Turner, of Chesterton Road, was jailed for three years at Cambridge Crown Court after pleading guilty to burglary and possession of class A drugs.
Detective Constable Sarah Longbottom, from the Cambridgeshire Police Southern Acquisitive Crime Team, said: “Turner is a prolific criminal with a wealth of convictions including 28 for burglary between 1998 and June this year. This extensive sentence will mean Cambridge and the surrounding villages are safer with him behind bars.”
