Strictly Come Dancing stars Giovanni Pernice, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood reunited this week for afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace. The trio attended the royal Garden Party hosted by Princess Anne on Thursday, May 12.
Giovanni shared photos of the occasion on Instagram including a photo of his invitation. It reads: “We request the pleasure of the company of Mr Giovanni Pernice & Mr Christopher Davis at a Garden Party in the Grounds of Buckingham Palace by kind permission of Her Majesty The Queen, in the presence of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.”
At the event, Giovanni – who won the BBC dancing competition last year with his partner Rose Ayling-Ellis – enjoyed catching up with judge Craig and fellow pro dancer Anton who recently announced that he has been axed from the show. But the stars were all smiles as they enjoyed tea, cake and finger sandwiches at the charity event.
The party was held for the Not Forgotten Association, a war veterans charity, which is held every year and typically hosted by its Patron the Princess Royal according to MyLondon.
Giovanni shared a video of her arriving at the party, wearing a purple hat with a matching dress and floral jacket. Princess Anne carried a long umbrella in one hand and Giovanni placed a sticker on the video reading “Princess” in pink sparkly writing.
The 31-year-old also shared a snap of himself, Anton and Craig chatting to guests from behind a rope barrier. He could be seen wearing sunglasses, a dark navy suit and shiny black shows in a selfie he posted while enjoying his afternoon tea.
Anton wore a light blue suit jacket with navy trousers and tux. Putting a little more fun into his outfit, Craig wore a a striped light-green, white and grey blazer with matching trousers, grey shirt and white shoes.
Giovanni is still celebrating after recently winning BAFTA’s Must-See Moment for one of his 2021 Strictly routines. During the series, he and Rose performed a stunning silent dance to Symphony.
He is currently on tour with his show Giovanni Pernice This Is Me, which arrives in Cambridge on Monday, May 16.
