At the 2020 What Mortgage Awards, The Cambridge took home the award for ‘Best Lender Website’ along with receiving Highly Commended in the ‘Best Regional Building Society’ category.

The Cambridge’s website was relaunched in November 2017 with the aim to deliver a site that helps the customer find the information they need in a quick and easy way. The jargon free website also has tools available that helps customers make the best savings and mortgage decisions for them. The pandemic has meant that it has become vital for customers to have intuitive digital platforms to support their financial decisions and account management, and having an interactive, customer focussed website has become imperative in servicing customers in the best way. In June alone, the Society’s website saw nearly 17,000 users visit their site, with over 4,000 customers having an online account with The Cambridge.

The Cambridge also received Highly Commended for ‘Best Regional Building Society’ at the virtual awards ceremony, which is voted for by customers. Over the last 12 months, the Society has continued to deliver innovation in both their product offering and against their overall mission, to help people have a home. Customer service is a focal point at The Cambridge, and for 2019 they reported strong Customer Satisfaction results with 95 per cent of their members describing the Society as good or easy to deal with.

Carole Charter, Chief Commercial Officer at The Cambridge, says: “We are delighted to have won Best Lender Website at the What Mortgage Awards this year, and also to have received Highly Commended in the Best Regional Building Society category. With our customers increasingly looking to digital services to complete their transactions, it is important for us to have a platform that supports them with these growing needs. We are committed to increasing our profile digitally so that customers have a greater choice as to how they engage with us, at a time and place that suits them. We’re thrilled our customers value our website as much as we do.”
