Cross Keys Homes (CKH) have reached the next milestone in their flagship development by completing the first 131 new apartments at Indigo.

The £70 million development scheme, which has received £12.5 million grant funding from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, will provide 315 much needed high-quality homes offering a range of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and duplexes across two connected wings when the development completes early next year.

Today, the keys have officially been handed over from their development contractor, Willmott Dixon, for the first phase of properties with residents set to starting move into these new homes as they are rented out in the coming weeks.

CKH Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “We have made great progress on this site over the last two years, thanks to our development partners, Willmott Dixon, and I am delighted that we have reached the stage where we can now complete the first phase of apartments and start to welcome new residents as they begin to move into their new homes.”

CKH Technical Director, Gary Clarke was joined on site by Chris Warren, Senior Operations Manager at Willmott Dixon to receive the keys to the new homes.

CKH Technical Director, Gary Clarke, said: “We are committed to making a positive difference by providing homes that people can afford and are looking forward to seeing how our Indigo development will help to improve access to sustainable, modern city centre living.

“Today marks the next stage in this fantastic development with us taking possession of these 131 new apartments, as work continues to finish off the remaining 184 properties on site over the coming months before the development fully completes.”

Chris Warren, Senior Operations Manager at Willmott Dixon, added: “We’re thrilled to be handing over the first phase of this flagship project in Northminster. This is a huge milestone for the Indigo development; it marks the start of high-quality, affordable housing being available in the centre of Peterborough.

“Many towns and cities are going through regeneration to transform our urban centres and reshape how people live, work, study and socialise. We look forward to seeing how this revitalisation project positively impacts on the local economy and wider community in Peterborough.”

Each of the 131 properties are being marketed at sub-market rent levels – set at 80% of private market rent levels and are suitable for anyone who has a connection to Peterborough and has a joint income of less than £80,000 a year.
