From the 31st July, The University Arms and Parker’s Tavern will be reopening following the Coronavirus outbreak. The landmark hotel situated next to parker’s Piece is offering a great experience without the worry of crowds.

The hotel first opened in 1834 and was relaunched in 2018 following a £80m transformation. Now it takes pride of place over the green with 192 rooms and suites. The hotel is also home to an underground valet car park, gym, beautiful public Library, which is also curated by Heywood Hill, a ballroom and stylish event spaces, ideal for private dinners and intimate celebrations.

Parker’s Tavern restaurant and bar will re-open fully from 31st July serving locally sourced, seasonal food. Breakfast will now be a la carte or ‘grab & go’ items will be available, while tables will be spaced one metre apart, with just one waiter allocated per table to limit contact and comply with social distancing guidelines.

In order to celebrate the hotel re-opening, University Arms will be running an exclusive Welcome Back promotion, valid from 31st July – 30th September. Marriott Bonvoy members will receive complimentary breakfast and 25% off the best available rates, while non-members will receive 15% off, available in all room categories.

Parker’s Tavern will also offer seductive summer dining options. For the first time, guests will be able to dine al fresco on Parker’s Piece, thanks to the launch of ‘Parker’s on the Piece’ from 24th July. The new outdoor dining space with Chef Tristan Welch at the helm, will be serve up a delicious new pizza menu featuring nine delicious, seasonal pizza options, with signature sourdough base made in a traditional pizza oven including: Air dried ham, tomato and mozzarella, Home cured sardines, capers and wild garlic and Asparagus, peas and mint.

A creative selection of quirky botanical mocktails and homemade soft whipped ice cream, with various sauces and toppings is also on offer to cool diners down. So whilst this ‘new normal’ may take a bit of getting used to, it’s safe to say that the University Arms is ready to welcome you back with the fantastic service and delicious dining it’s always provided.
